It is with deep sadness that we share news of the loss of our colleague and friend Prof. Jasper Konter. Jasper, his wife Prof. Bridget Smith-Konter, and her mother, were in a serious car accident near Shiprock, AZ on July 3. Bridget’s mother also passed away in the accident, and Bridget is seriously injured and receiving treatment at the University of New Mexico hospital. Their two children are safe with family. 

Jasper was an exceptional and curious scientist, an inspiring teacher and mentor, and a compassionate and caring person who was deeply devoted to his family. He will be greatly missed.
