SOEST students and personnel design, develop, and build instruments for remote sensing systems for Earth and space science. The sensors and devices are designed for field applications on Earth (e.g. FLYSPEC UV correlation spectrometer or towed sonar system) or on planetary surfaces (e.g. Standoff Fluorescence Raman and LIBS instrument), for mounting on aircraft (e.g. Thermal Hyperspectral Imager) and for use on satellite platforms (e.g. Space Ultra-Compact Hyperspectral Imager).
