Students and staff within SOEST investigate and analyze meteorites from asteroids, the Moon, and Mars. The work aims to answer questions about the origin and composition of the building blocks of our Solar System, including materials that formed before our Sun. Studies also emphasize the physical and chemical processes that form and modify Solar System materials. This research is fundamental to understanding planetary evolution and exploring the processes linking the distribution of water and life in the Universe.
