GES Symposium

The GES Symposium is a celebration and culmination of the GES student’s undergraduate research efforts. GES students presenting at this symposium conducted faculty-mentored research, analyzed their results, and compiled their findings into a thesis format. Many theses are converted into peer-reviewed journal publications; a feat usually accomplished by students once in graduate school.

Virtual Symposium Recordings

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, almost all of the GES Symposiums held during the academic years 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022 were held virtually via Zoom. Click here to view the recordings. (The link opens in a new tab.) Barring conditions and/or University policies that prevent mass conventions, the department will host in-person GES Symposiums beginning the Fall 2022 semester.

In-Person Symposium Recordings

From the Spring 2023 semester on, the GES Program will record in-person GES Symposiums whenever possible. Click here to view recordings of in-person Symposiums. (The link opens in a new tab),
