Marine Facilities PlanningUniversity-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) is an organization of 58 academic institutions, including the University of Hawaiʻi, and National Laboratories involved in oceanographic research and joined for the purpose of coordinating oceanographic ships' schedules and research facilities. Marine Facilities Planning is intended to allow scientists to request ship time on the vessels of the U.S. Academic Research Fleet. You must have an account to begin planning your upcoming expedition. |

Vessel Scheduling and PlanningTo schedule ship time aboard the R/V Kilo Moana, submit a request online to the Marine Facilities Planning at the time of proposal submission to the federal agencies, approximately one year before the expected expedition. Once ship time has been assigned to the Kilo Moana, the ship schedule and expedition profile can also be accessed and edited at Marine Facilities Planning. |
