Kelsey McBeain received the RCUH Employee of the Year Award. As a lab research technician with oceanographers Kyle Edwards and Grieg Steward, Kelsey is responsible for maintaining a unique collection of phytoplankton and virus cultures isolated from the ocean waters around the Hawaiian islands. Kelsey has streamlined and reduced the time for culture maintenance procedures by nearly 50% so that it now takes less than a week per month.
