Research Interest

Victoria is a PhD student in Biological Oceanography working in the Deep Sea Fish Ecology Lab with Dr. Jeffrey Drazen. Her research interests include the impacts of deep-sea polymetallic nodule mining on the ecology of deep midwater communities, particularly the micronekton. She is currently working on establishing a baseline of midwater micronekton communities at a mining claim area within the CCZ. Victoria is also interested in the intersection of science and policy and hopes to use her research to have a positive impact on environmental policy.
