Kīhei Workshop
Our kīhei workshop provided our students with a hands-on immersion into the Hawaiian art of kīhei, the traditional garment used to mark significant life transitions and ceremonies. They learned about the cultural protocol of the garment before learning the intricate techniques of ‘ohe kāpala (bamboo stamping). Each student will leave the class with a personalized kīhei that tells their unique story through the geometric patterns and intentional design.

Lei Making Workshop
Our first Lei Making Workshop was a success! Students, staff, and faculty joined in to transform flowers and foliage into beautifully colored lei. We shared techniques used in Hawaiian culture, while learning from our students techniques used in other pacific islands.
Join us at the next Lei Making Workshop: April 22, 2026 in the HIG Courtyard from 10am to 2pm.

Coffee Hour
Thanks to everyone who made our first Coffee Hour such a success! The conversations were great, the snacks were delicious, and coffee or tea was a perfect start to the day. It was great catching up with everyone and meeting new people. If you couldn’t make it this time, don’t worry! We’re planning another one.

Wreath Making Workshop
Our wreath making workshop was festive and fun. We utilized some locally sourced foliage and some pine cones to create our very own holiday magic! It was incredible to see everyone’s unique designs come to life. Join us at our next wreath making workshop to craft your own .

Pair Meet and Greet
To kick off the semester, we brought our mentors and mentees together for our annual pair meet and greet. They participated in icebreakers and activities. For some pairs, this was their first time meeting each other. This initial meeting allowed them to get to know each other as they prepare for their monthly pair lunch meetings.
