EARTH SCIENCES ENRICHMENT FUND

This is our most flexible, "greatest needs" fund. Gifts to the Earth Sciences Enrichment Fund support scientists in their quest to understand the complex mysteries of the world around us. Your gift will advance the frontiers of science by helping our scientists build high-performance instrumentation, attract talented graduate and postdoctoral students, and provide funds for promising new research initiatives.

EARTH SCIENCES FIELD TRIP FUND

Gifts Earth Sciences Field Trip Fund support our students to conduct field exercises in our courses, suuch as geological field methods, volcanology, hydrology, sedimentology, structure, Dynamic Earth, Geology of the Hawaiian Islands, Petrology, and others.

WILLIAM T. COULBOURN Marine Geology Research Grant Endowment

The William T. Coulbourn award is offered yearly to undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of Earth Sciences. The purpose of this award is to support student research marine geology. Requests of up to $1,000 are considered for each applicant. This award is given annually in memory of department alumnus and faculty member Dr. William T. Coulbourn.

Earth Sciences Seminar Support Fund

This fund helps the department invite extraordinary scientists from around the world to present their work at our TGIF Seminar series.

HAROLD T. STEARNS FELLOWSHIP

The Harold T. Stearns Fellowship is offered yearly to undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of Earth Sciences to support geological research of Pacific Islands and shorelines bordering the Pacific Ocean. Longtime department friend Dr. Harold T. Stearns endowed this award.

MARINE GEOLOGY RESEARCH GRANT ENDOWMENT

UNDERGRADUATE SUMMER FIELD CAMP AWARD

Each year awards are given to Department of Earth Sciences majors to offset the cost of geology summer field camp. These awards are used exclusively to attend summer geology field camps outside of Hawaii.
