Next DISCO meeting

The next DISCO meeting (DISCO XXVIII) will be held 16–20 October 2022 in Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i. Applicants considered for invitation to DISCO XXVIII must have completed their dissertations after 30 June 2021, or provide certification from their Department Chair or Dean that they will complete their degree by 1 July 2023. The Dissertations Symposium in Chemical Oceanography provides recent graduates, or soon to graduate, PhD-level chemical oceanographers with an opportunity to present their dissertation research in front of their professional peers and to forge professional relationships that will facilitate their future research and academic careers.

DISCO XXVIII:
16–20 October 2022
Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i

The DISCO XXVIII symposium for chemical oceanographers with recent PhDs will be held at the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel, Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, from 16–20 October 2022. This symposium will be jointly sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and coordinated by the University of Hawai‘i.

Applicant Information

Dissertations must have been completed after 30 June 2021, or applicants must provide certification from their department chair or Dean that they will complete their degree by 1 July 2023. No further applications will be accepted for DISCO XXVIII. Please visit this website late in 2023 for application information for the 2024 DISCO meeting.
