Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology Director’s Fund
The HIMB is a unique institution, unlike any other research laboratory in the country.
Accessible only by boat, and situated on a private 28-acre island within Kaneohe Bay, HIMB offices and laboratories are perched atop a living coral reef, allowing unrivaled access to the ecosystems that are at the heart of the research conducted at the Institute. HIMB staff conduct internationally renowned research on coral reef ecology, shark and cetacean behavior, and marine genomics.
Support for HIMB will provide for continued staff, student, and faculty excellence in marine biology research, education, and conservation, while ensuring world-class facilities and state-of-the-art equipment are available to those who live on, work at, and visit HIMB.
