Free virtual EarthX Ocean Conference
The virtual EarthX Ocean Conference: Protecting the Life Support Systems of the Ocean will be held on June 9 and 10 starting at 8:00 am (HST) and is free and open to all. Conference themes include high seas protection, coral reef conservation, ocean plastics pollution, sustainable fisheries.
Three leaders from Hawai‘i will deliver keynote addresses: Robert Richmond, Director of SOEST’s Kewalo Marine Laboratory; Nainoa Thompson, President of the Polynesian Voyaging Society and Hōkūleʻa Master Navigator; and Aulani Wilhelm, Senior Vice President, Center for Oceans, Conservation International.
EarthX is an international organization with a focus on environmental sustainability. In collaboration with National Geographic, EarthX will be sponsoring the virtual EarthxOcean conference following World Oceans Day.
