Punahou School wows at the 2019 Aloha Bowl

February 16 marked a day of fierce competition at UH Mānoa as eight local high school teams from three islands went head-to-head in Hawaiʻi Sea Grant’s 2019 Aloha Bowl, the regional component of the Consortium for Ocean Leadership’s National Ocean Sciences Bowl. Teams impressively answered questions for hours on ocean biology, geology, policy, technology, climate, and physical oceanography. But the Punahou School team ultimately triumphed in the finals over the NESI homeschooled team, earning themselves a trip to the national competition in Washington, DC on April 11-14. Congratulations, Punahou! The organizers wish to thank profusely the SOEST volunteers who helped make the day a success.
