Tom Shea recognized with Young Scientist Award

Tom Shea, assistant researcher in the Department of Geology and Geophysics, was honored with the 2017 Geological Society of American (GSA) Mineralogy, Geochemistry, Petrology and Volcanology Young Scientist Award for his outstanding work on volcanic landslides, mineral growth and diffusion (leucite, olivine), bubble formation and eruption dynamics. He received the award at the National GSA meeting in Seattle, WA in October.
