Who Bears the Burden?

Join a discussion among Indigenous community experts and scholars to talk about the ways they experience disproportionate impacts in the process of “actionable” research and suggestions they have for reimagining the process.
Featured speakers include Dr. Dominique David-Chavez (Assistant Professor of Indigenous Natural Resource Stewardship at Colorado State University), Dr. Noelani Puniwai (Assistant Professor, Kamakakūokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies), and Nick Kawelakai Farrant (Coastal Community Resilience Specialist, North Shore Community Land Trust and University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program). The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Diamond Tachera and Dr. Sara Kahanamoku.
