The Third Symposium of the Joint Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research

New Technologies Driving Ocean Science Breakthroughs

Save the date! JIMAR will be hosting their third symposium at the East-West Center on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. The symposium will feature technological advances, innovative modeling, advanced analytical techniques and socioeconomic models that are leading to rapid progress in JIMAR focus areas such as ecosystems, species and resource protection, fisheries sciences, and tropical oceanography and meteorology. The first two JIMAR Symposia in 2012 and 2013 were well attended, providing an opportunity to increase linkages between the local NOAA labs and University of Hawaii research units.

Oral and poster sessions are being planned for the one-day event. Presenters will be a mix of JIMAR researchers, NOAA federal staff, UH faculty, and outside experts. Please start thinking about possibly showcasing your research at this event or simply attending. Solicitations for presenters will be sent out soon.
