Geology & Geophysics (now called Earth Sciences) will be holding its first Alumni Days celebration this coming May 17 and 18. We will have two days of get-together activities, both at UH Mānoa and out in the field (where we all belong).
Friday, May 17
- 9–9:30 am
Welcome and Introductions, Department Chair’s overview
- 9:30–11 am
Our buildings, campus, facilities, etc.
Alumni Association inaugural meeting
- Noon–1 pm
Lunch (bring/buy your own)
- 1–4 pm
Graduate and Undergraduate research extravaganza: see and hear about
the cutting-edge research that our amazing students are conducting
- 6–7:30 pm
Public lecture (on campus) by this year’s distinguished G&G alumnus, Dr. Jim Bell III
- 8 pm
Dinner at a nearby restaurant (will cost $20–$25 per person)
Saturday, May 18
- 8:30 am–5 pm
Field trip to Wai‘anae volcano led by none other than Dr. John Sinton. Lunch will be provided as well as transportation for those who need it.
