For DCLDE Oahu we aim to turn back toward the roots of the DCLDE with increased focus on methods comparison. To accomplish this, emphasis will be placed on workshop dataset(s). Priority will be ordered as:
1) Work on the current dataset
2) Work on prior workshop datasets (available here and here)
3) Work directly related to technical aspects of DCLDE
4) Work related to DCLDE applications and
5) Other.
Time allotted to “conference talks” will be retained but reduced to facilitate more breakout discussion sessions, technical workshop sessions, and meaningful poster sessions.

Special Session in honor of Dr. Whitlow Au
The DCLDE community lost an esteemed colleague, mentor and friend when Dr. Whitlow W.L. Au passed away in February of 2020. Whit’s contributions to marine bioacoustics are matched by few others and he was a particularly enthusiastic participant and promoter of our community. He influenced many of us personally through his mentorship and even more of us through his seminal works in biosonar, signal processing and acoustic monitoring of marine habitats. In this session we honor his memory and his contributions to our community. We encourage those of you who knew Whit or were influenced by his work to consider presenting your latest DCLDE findings in this special session.
