Research Interests

The focus of our research is to understand how ocean conditions—including those linked to climate change—affect the distribution and life history of fishery-relevant taxa. Specifically, we specialize in species distribution modeling and studies of recruitment processes using a combination of statistical and machine learning approaches. The majority of our research centers on species that interact with Hawaiʻi’s fisheries, ranging from pelagic longline fisheries to reef-associated taxa.
