Visiting Scientist and Post-Doctoral Programs

The visiting scientist program provides support for visits by nationally and internationally recognized scientists to pursue research directly related to any of JIMAR's eight research themes. JIMAR also provides support for post-doctoral fellows. Invited scientist appointments can be for any length of time up to a few months and post-doctoral support can be provided for many months, depending on need. Recipients are chosen on the basis of their past research accomplishments and the recommendations of University of Hawaii or NOAA researchers. For more information, and to submit candidates for consideration, contact either the JIMAR Director, Dr. Douglas S. Luther, dluther@hawaii.edu, or the JIMAR Deputy Director for PIFSC Projects, Dr. Jeffrey Hare, jhare@hawaii.edu.
