Biogeochemical Stable Isotope Facility
School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology

Our fully-automated Picarro L2130-i allows for automated hydrogen and oxygen isotopic measurements of both fresh and seawater samples at an affordable price.
We have the capability to determine the δ13C of dissolved inorganic carbon in both fresh and seawater samples. Please contact us directly if you are interested in this service. Our instrumentation is not currently configured for this analysis, but we may be able to accommodate large sample sets.
δ13C of dissolved inorganic carbon (please inquire directly)
For more info about any of these services, please email us: isobiogeo@soest.hawaii.edu
Also looking for nutrient analysis? We can work closely with S-LAB to facilitate combined sample submission (although separate sample aliquots are required).
Please visit the website for S-LAB at:

δ13C, δ15N of amino acids (please inquire directly)
We are now regularly accepting samples for these analyses. Please inquire directly if you would like more information about these capabilities.
δ13C, δ15N analysis of solid samples and filters
We accommodate ,many types of samples such as plant tissue, animal tissues, phytoplankton, algae, sediments and various sizes of glass fiber filters. One analysis/combustion of a sample can yield both N and C quantification and isotopic compositions. If you are solely interested in quantification, then please visit the S-LAB website at the following address: http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/S-LAB

δ15N, δ18O of nitrate+nitrite in water
We are able to determine the δ15N, δ18O of nitrate+nitrite in both fresh and sea water. Please contact us directly for more information regarding this service. We need to know the concentration of nitrate in your samples to perform this analysis. Please visit the S-LAB website to inquire about concentration analysis. http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/S-LAB
