Research Interests
Dr. Peng Jiang’s research interests are in-situ microanalysis and mineral micro-geochemistry and their applications to various research regions. His research regions cover a wide range of tectonic settings, including a destructing craton (gold deposits in Jiaodong), hot orogen (Namibia orogenic belt), mid-ocean ridges (e.g., East Pacific Rise, Juan De Fuca, Galapagos Spreading Center, SE Indian Ridge), and hotspots (e.g., Hawaiian Islands). He utilizes the microanalytical techniques (EPMA, LA-ICP-MS, SIMS) to comprehensively investigate textures and geochemistry of various mineral and ore phases to unravel crust and mantle evolution, magmatic and metamorphic processes, as well as mechanisms for critical mineral deposition.
