  • Airport Shuttle Service between Waikiki and Airport:

  • Transportation between the New Otani Hotel in Waikiki and the East West Center will be arranged.
        A local bus company will pick up the workshop participants at the New Otani Hotel.
        In the evening, the shuttle will return to the New Otani Hotel.

  • The campus can be reached by the public transportation system (The Bus) with bus route #4 from Waikiki. 
    The fare is $2 and is paid when entering the bus. Bus stops are located near on Kuhio Ave in Waikiki (any bus stop sign).
    See route map and time table for details.
    Note that the ticket (ask bus driver) allows for one transfer within a 2h limit after purchase. 
    Prepare for a 5-10min walk to the East-West Center. 
    [A transfer from route #4 to route #6 is possible at the University/King St. stop.
    The route #6 will stop in front of the East-West Center.]

On Wednesday (Nov. 14th, 2007) afternoon, a tour bus will bring us from the East-West Center (2:45pm departure) to the windward side of Oahu near Kailua. At one of the largest and oldest heiaus on Oahu, the Ulupo Heiau,  we will learn about the historical and cultural developments of the heiau and the adjancant Kawainui March (the largest protected fresh water wetland in the State of Hawaii). At about 5:30pm the bus will return to the New Otani Hotel (6:30pm).
