8:08 am: The stream at mile 2 is probably a real pussy cat 90% of the time, but after some heavy rain, it can attack like a hungry Bengal tiger. A slightly mistimed jump across some rocks resulted in this injury to my left shin. The angle at which this photo was taken does not reveal the true extent of the injury. After Kevin stopped laughing, the hike continued without further incident.
