When viewing a 3-D file a scroll bar appears at the bottom of the plot which can be used for selecting the location of the slice. In this example an x-slice (i.e., a slice perpendicular to the x axis) is displayed. The location of the slice is at i=71. This location is graphically indicated on the scroll bar. If plane # i is currently displayed, clicking anywhere on the scroll bar with the left mouse button causes plane number i-1 to be displayed; clicking with the right mouse button causes plane number i+1 to be displayed. Clicking with the center mouse button causes the plane at the relative location of the cursor within the scroll bar to be displayed. Optionally, one can type the desired plane # into the "Plane #" button. (To enter a number into the button, position the cursor on top of the button, type the number and then hit [return] to terminate the number. After entering the number, hit the [spacebar] to update the plot.
To switch the slice direction and view a plane oriented in another direction type "x", "y" or "z" on top of the graphics screen to view a plane perpendicular to the x, y or z axis, resepectively. If the cursor is within the main plot frame when you type "x", "y" or "z", the new plane number of the new slice will correspond to the location of the cursor within the plot when you typed "x", "y" or "z". Otherwise the plane number of the new slice will be set to the previously viewed plane number for that slice.
