The world’s leading seismologists will gather in Hawaii
to exchange their latest research findings and ideas at the 101
st annual meeting of the Seismological Society of America (SSA)
on 11 – 13 April 2007. Among the topics for discussion:
- Analysis of the Hawaii Kiholo Bay Earthquake of 15 October
2006.
- Seismic hazard assessments
- Public health implications of earthquake preparedness
- Moonquakes revisited
- Natural hazards and engineering aspects of managing damage
- Volcano monitoring systems

The public may attend regular sessions by purchasing a day pass
for a fee of $280, and students may purchase a special day pass
for $150.

All reporters must pick up meeting badges on site in the press
registration room, Waikoloa 1. Press registrants will be asked
