1999 SOEST Open House

1999 SOEST Open House Poster Contest Rules

Theme

"Technologies & Discoveries of the 21st Century"

Stardate 2099: You are a SOEST scientist who has used the technology developed during the first century of the new millenium to travel to previously unexplored horizons: far-away galaxies, the depths of Earth's inner space (the oceans), or Earth's deep interior.

Along the way, you have made a fabulous discovery, amazing the scientific community -- it is either a new creature, geologic landform, or process which has shaped planetary evolution.

For your poster, please draw a picture of your discovery or the technology you used to discover it. What is the name of your discovery or device?

Contest Goals

To educate Hawaii's children about ocean, earth, atmospheric, and planetary sciences and technology, and encourage children to consider careers in science.
