The NOAA Fisheries / Sea Grant Graduate Fellowships are open to graduate students interested in two specialized areas: population dynamics and marine resource economics.
Population Dynamics Fellowships
Ph.D. candidates interested in the population dynamics of living marine resources and the development and implementation of quantitative methods for assessing their status may be eligible to receive up to three years of funding. At least two fellowships in this field of study may be awarded to qualified students.
Marine Resource Economics Fellowships
Ph.D. students in marine resource economics, concentrating on the conservation and management of living marine resources may be eligible to receive two years of funding. Up to two fellowships in this field of study may be awarded to qualified students.
Stipend and Expenses
An overall award of $38,500 per Fellowship will be in the form of a grant or cooperative agreement. The award provided to each Fellow will be used to cover stipend and living costs, tuition, and necessary travel related to proposed thesis research and Fellowship meetings. Awards are contingent upon the availability of Federal funds.
