Implementing SSL in Microsoft Outlook 2003

Select Tools, then Email Accounts.
Choose "View or change existing email accounts" and click next.
Select the relevant email account and select Change.
Ensure that "Require Logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" is unchecked
Set your Outgoing mail server (SMTP) as smtp-soest.hawaii.edu
Select More Settings, then select the Outgoing Server tab in the new window

	Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
	Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server."

Select the Advanced tab.

Incoming Server	993 (imap) / 995 (pop3)
Encrypted connection	SSL
Outgoing Server	465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
Encrypted connection	SSL or TLS (depending on port choice above)

When done, click OK
