Quotes from Meeting Participants:

“Fantastic, very worthwhile. I will recommend PODS to every PO PhD student I come across.”

“The overall experience was excellent, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am certain that I made connections that will last my entire career. The chance to interact with the agency representatives was also a unique and invaluable experience… I feel very lucky to have been invited.”

“I evaluate my experience at PODS as positive. Although, sometime it was hard because the care of my daughter and the language. I should get better my English.”

“It was a great week, I will definitely recommend to future students.”

“I think PODS succeeded in its goal of making young scientists make friends with each other — I do plan to seek out the other participants at future meetings. I’m also impressed when I see how thoroughly other people have researched different topics — it’s a little bit humbling, but also gives me a very good idea of how broad this field of oceanography is.”

“One of the best conferences / workshops I have been to thus far. Fantastic people, great venue, and very nice opportunity to meet a couple of the program managers.”

“Overall, I thought PODS was a wonderful conference. It was well organized, a great way to network with scientists at my level, and in a beautiful location. Great!”

“Excellent. It was great to meet “the future generation” of scientists. Most of the time big conferences like AGU or ASLO are too big and dispersive, which makes it hard to connect with other scientists from your field. Small meeting like this one, on my opinion, are much better for networking.”

“Excellent. All well organised, and a great group of people attending. Lots of interesting talks, in a well structured program.”

“A very good meeting. An opportunity to interact with peers and build a lifetime network and bond.”

“Excellent. Great for networking and great to see the great quality of oceanographic work in diverse institutions. I learned a lot! Thank you very much.”
