Farallon de Pajaros ( Isle of the Birds) is also called Uracas or from Uracas – Spanish for magpie. It is the most active volcanic island in the Mariana Archipelago and is located at latitude 20 31’N, longitude 144 54’E, approximately 595 km north of Saipan. It is 2 km long and 1.7 km wide with an area of approximately 2.5 km2 and a maximum elevation of 360 m.
