Research in theoretical, numerical and experimental marine hydrodynamics concerning motions and wave loads on floating and fixed offshore structures.
- June 1981 - June 1982: Standard Oil Company of California (Chevron), Offshore Technology and Planning Staff, San Francisco, CA. Design Engineer. Worked on hydrodynamic design of a tension leg platform. Developed computer programs to compute wave-induced viscous and slowly-varying drift forces, tendon tension response for given wave persistence data and TLP motions.
- June 1977 - November 1978: Shipbuilding Institute of Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. Naval Architect. Involved in basic ship design, coordinated the construction of ship models and conducted resistance and propulsion tests at the model basin of the same Institute.
