SIO Machine Learner’s Group The Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) Machine Learner’s Group is a student-organized, multi-disciplinary users group dedicated to facilitating conversations about machine learning tools, applications, and resources among SIO students, researchers, faculty, collaborators, and beyond. We meet on alternating Tuesdays at 1 pm PST for approximately an hour. Meetings consist of presentations from invited presenters (generally ~ 45 minutes) followed by a discussion period. We bring in presenters from a variety of disciplines and experience levels, including an upcoming presentation from Jeremy Howard of NVIDIA in June! Group members receive email reminders about upcoming meetings and access to a google drive folder that includes recordings of previous meetings and presenter slides. Though the group is SIO-based, the group contains many non-SIO members! If you are interested in joining, and/or presenting your own research, please reach out to Morgan Ziegenhorn < mziegenh [at] ucsd [dot] edu > or Rebecca Cohen < rec022 [at] ucsd [dot] edu >.
