WP2 - Data

Please read the data use agreement below before downloading data

By accessing athe data presented here, you agree to the following conditions:

The WP2 cruise data policy is based on openness and data sharing for the mutual benefit of program PIs, cruise participants and the general public. The policy below sets guidelines for release of data from the program defined as core and non-core measurements, with the understanding that some measurements require longer analytical procedures which prevent speedy release after the cruise. The policy is also intended as a guide for the proper acknowledgement of data generated by others.

(1) All core data will be posted on the cruise website and made available to other cruise participants in a reasonable, but timely fashion.

Core measurements are defined as those data needed to depict general environmental conditions that existed during the survey period.

Although not comprehensive, the list of core measurements for the cruise may include: meteorological observations; profiling of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, carbonate system, chlorophyll/pigments, particulate organic carbon and nitrogen, dissolved organic carbon, fluorescence, beam attenuation, light transmission and bio-optical profiling; primary and bacterial production, phytoplankton, zooplankton and bacteria biomass, meso- and microzooplankton grazing; biogenic, lithogenic, and grain size components of sediments, sediment trap samples; and remotely sensed observations in the form of processed sea surface temperature and ocean color images to the level of chlorophyll and attenuation coefficient.

Other non-core data may be put on the website as deemed appropriate by the PI.

All data submitted to the website will be labeled with generator's contact information to facilitate contact and collaboration.

(2) You are free to use downloaded data as long as its use does not conflict with the specific goals of its generator.

(3) If data use results in significant findings, presentations, or publications, the generator of the data will be offered co-authorship by the user, prior to public dissemination.

(4) In accordance with NSF guidelines, core data will be made publicly available 2 years from the time of the cruise. Non-core data will be made publicly available in accordance with the generators' guidelines, but generally holding to the 2 years timeframe as well.

(5) Data collected within the economic zone of foreign countries for which access was provided will be made available to the public as soon as available, allowing reasonable time for quality control and processing.
