TEACHING EXPERIENCE

· Science of the Seas (2003-2004), University of Hawaii.  Taught introductory oceanographic laboratory exercises to major and non-major undergraduates.  Executed geologic, geomorphologic, and oceanographic field trips around the island of Oahu.

· Introduction to GIS (2002), University of Florida.  GIS short (2 weekends) course designed and taught by myself to a group of faculty and staff at the University of Florida.  The course objectives were to introduce the fundamentals of geographic information systems and basic data handling.  Course was tailored to expedition planning, data display, and basic data manipulations (map algebra, correlations, interpolations)

· Introduction to Soil Science (2001), University of Florida.  Helped develop the curriculum for the course and taught the course introduction and capstone exercises.  I developed educational modules and implemented the use of GIS to understand the spatial patterns of data from soil analyses performed throughout the semester.
