See if the 500-day run with much stronger velocity gives also the same mean features. If the run becomes unstable, increase the drag. And think about the relationship between wind, velocity and drag amplitude.
Look at a RESTART.nc and see if we can modify it to put a non-homogeneous salinity field.
If this is done, start a run at day 500 –when the mean flow is stabilize– and estimate the Lagrangian flow from the salt advection.
If it is satisfying, decrease the drag and see if this is followed by a decrease of the salt advection.
In the meantime, understand the code to see if we could implement into it a calculation of float trajectories directly.
