• Look in observations (T/P SSH and Ocean Color) if 1) all plankton filaments are associated with elevated FSLE or not, 2) when they do, do they propagate together or not?
• Use the numerical simulations and the downscalling to study the link between the vertical velocity and FSLE. This link is only qualitative in Calil and Richards (2009).
