Animation of 120-m nitrate over the entire North Pacific subtropical gyre during 2004 in OFESΒΆ

From this animation, no nitrate event as high as 1 mmol/m^3 seems to occur west of the Hawaiian Islands. The question is how small the nitrate event we are looking for. From the float observations, it seems that we are talking about 1-5 mg/m^3 that is 0.05-0.4 mmol/m^3.
