Oceanography 633: Biogeochemical Methods in Oceanography
Fall 2013
Teaching Assistant: Arisa Okazaki
Guest Instructors: M. Grand, K. Selph, D. Ho, B. Glazer, R.
Briggs
Class Times: Lecture: M,W 11:30-12:20, Lab: F 13:30-16:20
Note: We will hold an informational meeting on Monday
August 26 in MSB 307. Theory and the basis and application of methods will be
presented on Mondays and Wednesdays and the laboratory exercises and other
equipment demonstrations will take place during the Friday extended laboratory
sessions. Some labs require more than the three hours scheduled.
The field trip will
require substantial time and may cause students to miss other classes. We will attempt to schedule the field trip after
consultation with students so as to minimize interference with other
commitments. Keep in mind that samples from the field trip may need to be
processed relatively soon after collection. There are several “days off” to compensate for the fact that labs will
often run over the three hours allocated. Please be prepared to stay a bit late
on the days labs are scheduled.
