- Dynamics of the oceanic circulation: equatorial oceanography, geostrophic turbulence, equatorial turbulence

- Nonlinear dynamics, non-equilibrium thermodynamics, complex systems: detection of deterministic chaos (nonlinear time series analysis), principle of maximum entropy production, application to climate dynamics
