HMRG Mapping Systems

HAWAII MR1

HMRG's workhorse system. The MR1 is a 12 kHz phased difference mapping system.

IMI30

The 30 kHz "Imaging and Mapping Instrument". HMRG's newest high resolution deep towed system.

IMI12

HMRG's newest 12 kHz mapping system. An improvement on our classic MR1 system with new electronics, towbody, and transducers.

IMI120 (DSL120)

Starting in May 2007 HMRG took over responsibility of operating and maintaing the IMI120 from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. The IMI120 is a world class 120 kHz deep towed mapping system.

Main Hawaiian Islands Multibeam Synthesis

The synthesis of all of the available multibeam data for the Main Hawaiian Islands. NOTE: This site is currently being rebuilt to incorporate new data. Check back soon.

HAWAII MR1 Data Archive

The digital archive for the HAWAII MR1 system. This archive contains data starting as far back as 1991.

Operations, mapping, and archives for the Simrad EM120 and EM1002 Multibeam systems on the R/V Kilo Moana
Multibeam Sidescan Processing
HMRG has developed a unique set of tools and methods for processing sidescan data from a large variety of multibeam systems.
DSL120 Data Processing
Processing and mapping for the WHOI DSL-120A deep towed 120 kHz mapping system.
Multibeam Bathymetry Processing
Using a combination of commercially available packages and custom designed software, HMRG is able to produce high quality multibeam bathymetric chart sets.
