  Tim's Trip Memoirs

The field trip was very intriguing to me in several ways. I am a biologist so I have never gone into the field with geologists so that alone was an experience. It made me reassured in my choice of being a biologist but it also showed me the importance of geology in looking at early animal life. The goal of our class was to help review how animals came to be. On the field trip we were able to see and talk about the transitional phases of early animal life. Having the ability to see the traces, fossils and hear what the environment was like from professors that work on this area was definitely more beneficial than just reading about it.

I think the trip was also very beneficial because I got know to the co-authors of the paper better. Since we were not researching or doing field work together it was a good team activity to go out in the field and ju st relax and talk with the others. Overall I think the trip was well organized and helped bring the story we are writing to life.

My favorite moments were:

Mike sitting on plant, Steve's crazy driving, and the garlic green olives
