How/why did you get into this field? There was no other work available to me at the time. What are your career goals? To live until retirement. What is the biggest misconception about what you do? That seafarers make a lot of money and see a lot of countries. What is the most important skill/trait that you rely on? Flexibility. What is your most memorable experience from your career? Going ashore in Bangladesh in June 1972. Tell us something about yourself. I was born in Seattle and grew up in Idaho. I live with my 4th wife, we each have 2 children. I like travel, reading and building ships and other things in bottles. |
