did you get into this field? As a geologist, I wondered, “Where do all
of these rocks come from?”
What are your career goals? To feel fulfilled as I look back upon my life’s work. What is the biggest misconception about what you do: Oceanography is vacation cruises and scuba diving. What is the most important skill/trait that you rely on? Common sense. Having enough experience to anticipate dangerous situation and avoid them. What is your most memorable experience from your career? Sailing through Prince Christiansen Sound at the southern tip of Greenland. Also visiting McMurdo Station, Antarctica. Tell us something about yourself. Spent most of childhood in Wheeling, West Virginia. Now reside in Corvallis, Oregon with wife, Lennie, and two boys, Ben (18) and Andy (15). Kids keep us busy. Also do home remodeling, handiwork. |
