Meet the Scientists and Crew! Terry Naumann Dr. Naumann has been a professor of Geological Sciences at the University of Alaska since 1999 (http://geology.uaa.alaska.edu/terry_naumann10-06.html), where he teaches courses in physical geology, volcanology, petrology, mineralogy, and structural geology. Since 1993 he has been engaged in field-based volcanology and igneous petrology studies in the Galápagos Archipelago. His current research deals primarily with the origin and evolution of the western volcanoes in the Galapagos, and along with his undergraduate students, they integrate mapping, sampling, petrography, geochemistry and geochemical modeling in their studies. When not doing research or hanging out with his family, he can be found somewhere on Earth with one or more of his many motorcycles.
