For weather and sea-surface conditions around Hawaii, I like the:
Check out the plot of
NOAA Buoy Wave data below!
This is a plot of Significant Wave Height and Wave Period
for the most current NOAA/Waverider buoy data online. This plot is updated
automatically as new data is furnished by NOAA. The plot is made using GMT-
Generic Mapping ToolS.
SURFING SCIENCE ON THE NET ! ! !
To keep up with the changing environmental conditions that influence my
work on sea-level change, I like to grab data from The
Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level, which provides a global
database of tide gauge measurements. See also the TOGA-TAO
home page for important oceanographic data.

Significant Wave Heights of 33 feet originating from
typhoons Oscar and Polly (Sept. 21, 1995).
For current changes in mean sea level, I like to surf to remotely sensed
images of sea-surface
topography for 1996 provided by the JPL TOPEX/POSEIDON Team. They also have images
of sea
surface variability , wind
speed , and significant
wave height by month for the last several years including 1996.
