Mokule’ia Beach Park takes its name from Mokule’ia, or “district of abundance,” a large land division in the district of Waialua. The 38.5 acre park, the only public beach park with facilities on this shore, is heavily used by almost everyone who visits Mokule’ia. Fronted by a long sand beach and a shallow reef, the park attracts fishers, surfers, windsurfers, kite surfers, hikers, bike riders, and campers. Several popular surf sites are accessed from the park, including Park Rights straight out from the park and Day Star at the edge of another reef to the west.
During periods of strong kona, or southerly winds, windsurfers and kite surfers frequent the park and the waters offshore. During periods of calm seas, the shallow reef fronting the park is a popular snorkeling and spear fishing site.
Public amenities: parking, picnic tables, restrooms, showers.
Ocean activities: fishing, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, windsurfing.
