Introduction

Waihe’e Beach Park has a shoreline composition of boulders and cobbles in the west, grading into dark detrital sands in the east. The narrow, steep beach has generally small waves at the shore making it suitable for swimmers with some experience. There are rip currents at the western bank of the stream mouth and towards the eastern end of the beach park, both of which may make swimming dangerous. The offshore reefs and boulders may be sharp, slippery, and dangerous and should be approached with care.
