Coastal wave measuring buoys

view

Since the summer of 1999, the department of oceanography has deployed directional wave buoys around the Island of O'ahu, Hawaii. First deployed as part of a wave study project, the buoys became a very useful tool for hindcasting local waves, and are now used by recreational and professional users alike.
