Recovered JPL Solo floater yesterday afternoon after a successful test dive
and proceeded SSW of Oahu some 165 nm to release the instrument. Unit
deployed at 1st light. There was some concern about proper operating
parameters when the floater returned to the surface during the late morning
hours, but it was determined the unit had operated properly and a shipboard
recovery would not be necessary. Vessel is underway for Honolulu with an
ETA of 0700 at "H" buoy 01 December. Winch and crane have been prepped for
removal on arrival.
